Following we define everything related to the rules and regulation of the race, including the participant’s categories, preparation, and code of conduct.
General responsibility
It is the participant´s responsibility to be well prepared for the race. That means to be in good physical health in general, as well as having an acceptable level of preparation. The possession of a triathlon license does not guarantee or covers this responsibility
All triathletes must:
- Be responsible for their own safety and that of other athletes.
- Be aware, acknowledge, follow, and respect the rules of the competition.
- Know the race course.
- Obey race deputies and race judge’s indications.
- Respect traffic laws.
- Treat other athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators with respect and courtesy.
- Avoid use of abusive language.
- Respect the environment in which the competition is held. Athletes must not abandon or throw objects or waste, nor act aggressively with the environment.
- Conocer el protocolo de actuación en caso de accidente deportivo, recogido en la página web de la Federación Andaluza de Triatlón: https://www.triatlonandalucia.org/seguros
Participation in the sporting event is an individual, self-responsible, and free act. The athlete assumes all inherent risks associated with participating in such sporting competition. These risks include but are not limited to: accidents, falls, crashes, caused by the athlete or third parties participating or not participating in the competition, and generally any personal or material damage. Thus the participant definitively waives responsibility in case any such accident may occur. The participant renounces to make any claim against the organization or organizing members in the likely event any damage occurs during such a risky framework. The participant acknowledges and accepts all risks involved.
Mandatory:
The Rules of the Spanish National Triathlon Federation (FETRI) will regulate all matters relating to penalties and sanctions. Check the rules here
Respect
Participants accept each of the articles of this regulation and agree to participate honestly, according to the competition rule, and honestly cover the full distance of each section before crossing the finish line. Likewise, they declare to be respectful with the personnel involved in the organization and with the rest of the participants. They also pledge to treat their own and others’ sports equipment with respect.
In order to contribute to a minimum environmental impact, participants will use the containers located by the aid stations to throw away bottles after drinking and will refrain from throwing away food or packaging on the ground throughout the race course.
